Harriet & Wellington Smith


The last 2 children of  Silas Smith & Emma Button are Harriet Pearl Smith & Wellington C Smith.  Harriet married Irving Daniel Reed and had 3 children - Robert, Donald & Loren.  Wellington married Natalia Arlene Cook and had 3 children as well - Douglas, Arlene & Welna.

Funeral services for Mrs Harriett S Reed of 125 Calhoun St, Edgewater, formerly of Schenectady, NY, will be held on Monday at the Andrews Funeral Home, 1196 State St, in Schenectady. Mrs Reed died yesterday at Knollwood Nursing Hoe at the age of 76. Born in New York, Mrs Reed had lived in the county for the past three years and attended Parkwood Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Robert Reed of Edgewater, with who she made her home; Donald Reed of Round Lake, NY and Loren Reed of Hudson Falls, NY. Also 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Arrangements are under the direction of the John M Taylor & Sons, 147 Duke of Gloucester St.

Irving D Reed, Former Resident of Area, Dies
Irving Daniel Reed, 66, a former resident of Clifton Park, died Monday at his residence 101 Edward St, Schenectady.  Mr Reed was born at Clifton Park and had lived there for seven years.  He was employed as a machinist at General Electric Co in Schenectady.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs Harriet Smith Reed; three sons, Robert I Reed, Schenectady; Loren K Reed, Glens Falls; Donald J Reed, Round Lake, and 14 grandchildren.  The funeral will be tomorrow at 2 pm from the Baxter Funeral Home, 40 N Brandywine Ave, Schenectady, with Rev G Lewis Porter officiating.  Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.

Funeral Conducted For Timothy Reed
Round Lake - The funeral of Timothy Leroy Reed, who died Friday night at Albany Hospital, was held today at 2 pm at the Morris Funeral Home, Round Lake. The Rev Paul W Ives, Methodist pastor, officiated. Burial was in Denning Street Rural Cemetery. The child was born July 2, 1958, the son of Mr and Mrs Donald Reed, Round Lake. Survivors in addition to his parents are a brother, Richard; two sisters, Donna and Vicki; his maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Leroy DeGroff, Round Lake, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs Irving Reed, Schenectady.

Wellington C Smith of Division Street, died Sunday morning following a heart attack while at work in the Dake milk plat, Saratoga Springs. He was born at Ballston Lake, Feb 7, 1896. Mr Smith was formerly employed for 10 years in the Elmer E Cook ice business in Ballston Spa. He is survived by his wife, a son, Douglas Irving, two daughters, Arlen Corabel and Wilna June Smith, a sister, Mrs Irving Reed, Ballston Lake, and three nephews, Robert, Donald and Loren Reed. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Wednesday from the Wheeler Funeral Home.  Rev Harry J Swan, Presbyterian Church pastor, to officiate. Burial will be in Crescent Cemetery. The funeral home will be open Tuesday evening.

Mrs Natalia Cook Smith - a recent resident of the Embury Apartments in Saratoga Springs, died Jan 27, 1974. A lifelong resident of Ballston Spa until her recent move to Saratoga Springs, Mrs Smith is survived by two daughters, one son, a sister, 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Interment in the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.
