Funeral services for Mrs. Verne Hollesen, 56, were held Monday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Sioux Rapids with the Rev. O.M. McQuary officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree cemetery with the Henry Funeral home in charge.  Mrs. Hollesen died early Friday morning, Nov. 21, at her home in Sioux Rapids, following several heart attacks previously. She had been in declining health for the past several years. Pallbearers were Chris Torkelson, A.E. Gran, Robert Napier, Charles Gustafson, Harold Chesley and Donald Lewis. Aubrey George was soloist with Walter Simonsen, organ accompanist.  Lenore Eloise Hollesen, the first child of Ollie and Frank Hendricks, was born at Spencer, Ia., on December 15, 1902.  She spent her girlhood in several towns of Iowa and South Dakota.  On September 4, 1921, in Spencer she was married to Verne Hollesen of Sioux Rapids. They established their home in this community that same year and since then have called it their hometown.  They became the parents of four children, two of whom are living. They are Harry D. and Ronald R., both of Sioux Rapids.  Besides the two sons, Harry and Ronald, other members of her immediate family circle are her husband, Verne; one sister, Mrs. Oscar Seaton of Spencer; and one brother, John Hendricks of San Diego, Calif. Other near relatives are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harry Hollesen and two granddaughters, Cheryl 11 and Jymme 3.  Mrs Hollesen held membership in the local unit of the American Legion auxiliary. The following tribute was written by a member of the family circle.  Lenore was widely known, well loved and highly regarded by family and friends alike. God had given her an unusual creative ability in her fingers, and whenever anyone wanted something made for a special occasion they came to her. Her greatest joy was in doing for others, and oftentimes they were strangers to her, who received a cheery note and something hand-made. Many of them were lonely people and shut-ins. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her for her ready wit. Her ambition and quick smile can not be replaced.  Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were from Linn Grove, Alta, Storm Lake, Royal, Laurens, Spencer, Milford, Spirit Lake, Rembrandt, Grand Junction, Woodbine, Manson, Marathon, Cherokee, Albert City, Deloit, Hiawatha, Kan., and Hinkeley, Minn.
