Sgt
Charles Bruce Amsden was the son of Arthur Tibbets Amsden & Rachel Jane
Herron. After serving in WWI, he
returned home & married into our line via Winnie Marie Worden, the daughter
of Lodwick Morgan Worden & Nellie Bly Baker. To them, were 9 children – Lorraine, Charles,
Kathryn, Betty, Marvin, Maurice, Lyle, Doris & Robert.
Charles Bruce Amsden, 92, formerly of Groton, died September 11, 1985 at Yakima, Wash. He was born near Groton, by Amsden Lake, and moved to Yakima in 1942. Survivors include four sons, Charlie and Lyle, both of Yakima; Maurice, Aberdeen; four daughters, Lorraine Moran and Doris Lampert, both of Yakima; Kathryn Fritsch, Burlington, Wis, and Betty Bost, Hermiston, Ore; one brother, Albert, St Paul, Minn, and one sister, Jessie Schoch, Groton. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, three sisters and four brothers.
Not only is this an amazing picture of Charles, but also John Amsden shared this Amsden 1900 family photo - Charles is 2nd from left in the front row. His sister Jessie, far right front row is connected to our family as well - her daughter Phyllis married into the Blackmun clan.
