James Adelbert Armstrong, the youngest son of Allen Armstrong & Caroline Peck was born in New York and was the only one to leave New York.

By 1887 he was settled in Ontonagon, Michigan and married to girl named Julia Simmons, the daughter of English father Edmund Simmons & Irish mother Mary Clifford.

According to details on James' burial memorial at Find A Grave, he and Julia had 10 children - I have found 6. There are gaps where other children could have been born but the 6 found are - Frances, Caroline, Mary, Cecilia, James Jr & Allen.
I have to thank great-granddaughter Nancy for sharing the following pictures and obits on Ancestry - they give life to the vital records found ~~ thank you, thank you!

George O Armstrong's obit was one line...

Newark Union, 29 May 1886
Armstrong - In Wolcott, May 26, 1886, George Armstrong, son of the late Allen Armstrong, aged 44 years.

But he was the son of Allen Armstrong & Caroline Peck. He married Helen M Post, the daughter of Jotham Post & Polly Burch & had 4 children - John, Thomas, Allen & Stella.

Lake Shore News, Thurs, 30 Mar 1922
After an illness lasting since last November, Mrs. Helen Armstrong died at the home of her sister, Mrs Hattie Jones, in Smith Street, at 8 pm on Monday, aged about 80 years. The cause of death was senility, and a general break-down of the vital powers. Her condition fluctuated during the winter, and at one time there was hope of recovery, but she lacked strength to recuperate. Her survival for weeks after hope had been abandoned was remarkable. The deceased was a daughter of the late Jotham Post, of Butler, and the widow of George Armstrong, formerly of Wolcott. She was highly regarded by all who knew her. Three children survive, Mrs Stella Hobson, of Flint, Mich., and Thomas and John Armstrong, living in the western part of this state. One son, Allen Armstrong, of Syracuse, well known as a railroad man, died about a year ago. The funeral will be held from the house at 2:30 pm today, Rev S G Houghton officiating. Interment will be made in Glenside cemetery.

Their son John Fenn Armstrong married widow Beatrice Smith, the daughter of Frederick Smith, her first, Guy Sewell, husband died in France fighting the war. Beatrice's only daughter with Guy gained some siblings with the new union - Betty, John & Paul.
