The Hayner Clan


Mary Smith, the daughter of Alonzo V Smith & Adaline Hayner, married our Williard Silas Hayner in 1897 and they had 5 grown up children when he died in 1938 – Millard, Leroy, Mabel, Everett & Mildred.

Mrs Mary Hayner Sheffer, 83, of Center Brunswick, died at Cohoes Memorial Hospital yesterday after a short illness.  Born in Halfmoon, she had lived there until 17 years ago when she moved to Center Brunswick.  She was a member of Shenendehowa Methodist Church.  Survivors include her husband, Allen Sheffer; two sons, Millard Hayner of Waterford, and Everett Hayner of Clifton Park; a daughter, Mrs Cornell Martin of Clifton Park; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 am from Dunn Funeral Home, 319 Park Ave, Mechanicville, with Rev Clarence L Hoch of Shenendehowa Methodist Church officiating.

Millard Alonzo Hayner was the eldest and he married Adeline Mary, Addie, Anthony in 1923 - they had 3 children, Marjorie, Irene & Harvey.  Millard was owned & operated a dairy/produce farm.

HAYNER - Millard A Hayner of Route 236, Clifton Park, February 20, 1983, at Leonard Hospital.  Husband of the late Addie M Hayner.  Father of Mrs Norman (Marjorie) Madsen of Argyle, Mrs Arthur (Irene) Boynton and Harvey S Hayner both of Clifton Park.  Brother of Everett Hayner and Mrs Cornell (Mildred) Martin, both of Clifton Park.  Also survived by eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral Thursday 11 am from Gordon C Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 route 9, Clifton Park.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Burial in Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shenendehowa United Methodist church or Clifton Park-Halfmoon Emergency Fund.

Mrs Addie M Hayner, 60, of RD 1, Waterford, Town of Halfmoon, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, after a brief illness.  Born in Halfmoon April 11, 1902, daughter of the late Sidney J and Eliza Philo Anthony, Mrs Hayner had been a life long resident of the area.  She was a member of the Shenendehowa Methodist Church and of the Saratoga County Home Demonstration Unit.  Surviving are her husband, Millard A Hayner; two daughters, Mrs Norman Madsen of Argyle and Mrs Arthur Boyton of Wayland; one son, Harvey J Hayner of RD 2, Waterford; a sister, Mrs Russell George of RD 2, Mechanicville, and six grandchildren.  The funeral will be tomorrow at 11 am from the Dunn Funeral Home, 319 Park Ave, Mechanicville.  Rev Clarence Hoch, pastor of the Shenendehowa Methodist church will officiate.  Burial will be in Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.

LeRoy Silas Hayner married Carrie E Maxwell in 1922 and had a daughter Helen.
