William McChesney Dies, Was Toolmaker
William H McChesney, 63, of 1211 Van Antwerp Road, a retired General Electric Co toolmaker, died yesterday at home after a long illness. He was born in New Salem, Albany County, and came to Schenectady at the age of 14. Mr McChesney had been employed at GE 43 years at the time of his retirement in 1943. He was a member of GE Quarter Century Club and St Paul's Lodge, IOOF. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Maude Hegeman McChesney; one Son, George H McChesney, Schenectady; two sisters, Mrs Frank H Schuyler, Schenectady, and Mrs O E DeLaMater, Berne, and two nephews. Funeral arrangements are being completed by Baxter's funeral home.

Who was this William to us? He was the husband of Maude E Hegeman, the daughter of George B Hegeman & Mary Estella Rolfe. She was born in Schenectady, NY in 1895, and married William Henry McChesney in 1914.

The sad part is that after he retired, Maude had to file bankruptcy and they lost their home.
