Hezekiah Rogers Hegeman Sr & Esther M Bacon Family

Farmer Hezekiah ‘Roger’ Hegeman was the son of John Hegeman & Eve Johnson, born in 1825 and married Esther M Bacon about 1852.  

They are buried in the Vale Cemetery at Schenectady, NY

Together they had 2 boys, George & Hezekiah Jr

George B Hegeman, 80, for a number of years head agent here of the American Express Company, died at his home 1039 State street, Saturday, after a heart attack.  Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at the convenience of the family at his late home by Dr Lewis Lounsbury of the State Street Methodist Church. Burial will be made in the family plot in the Vale Cemetery.  The house will be open tonight after 7 o'clock.  Mr Hegeman was born June 21, 1853 in Princeton, and had been a lifelong resident of this city. At one time he was also employed with the Westinghouse Manufacturing Company. Mr Hegeman retired about 20 years ago.  He was the son of the late H Roger & Esther M Bacon Hegeman. Mr Hegeman was high priest of St George's Chapter, 757, RAM in 1890 and 1891; was a member of St George's Lodge, No 6 F and AM, St Georges' Council, R and SM of this city; DeWitt Council, R and SM of Albany; St George's commandery 37, Knights Templar; Cyprus Temple Shrine AAONMS of Albany, and the National League of Masonic clubs. He had been in the employ of the American Express Company from 1885 to 1898 and it was in 1898 he assumed charge of the shipping department of the Westinghouse Company.  His first wife was Edith Vedder Hegeman. A son George Earl Hegeman died at the age of 3 years and 5 months. He is survived by his second wife, Mary E Rolfe Hegeman, a daughter, Mrs Maude E McChesney of this city, a grandson, George Hegeman McChesny, and a sister, Mrs N L Myers of the River Road.

ROGER HEGMAN DIES
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Feb. 2.(U.P.) - H. Roger Hegeman, 71, for 43 years connected with the Westinghouse Electric company died suddenly here today. He formerly lived in Schenectady, N.Y. He died on 2 Feb 1929 at the age of 71 in St Petersburg, Pinellas Co, Florida.

Mrs Hegeman Dies In Erie, Pa, Where Rites to Be Held Today
Funeral services will be held today in Erie, Pa, for Mrs Mary Adelaide Hegeman, widow of H Roger Hegeman who was for many years acting head of the Westinghouse Co, the main plant of which stood on the site now occupied by the International General Electric Co office building and the WGY studios.  Mrs Hegeman died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs C Ralph Osborne, 4201 Sassafras Street, Erie.  Burial will be in St Petersburg, Fla.  Mrs Hegeman was born in Central Bridge and for more than 47 years was a resident of Schenectady.  Hegeman street was cut through the early property of Mr and Mrs Hegeman in Bellevue.  They later made their home in the old Westinghouse home, now the Bond Funeral Home.  Mr and Mrs were lifelong members of the Methodist church.  Other survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs John A Bates Jr and a great-granddaughter, Miriam Alice Bates.
