Rae W Hendricks, 83, of Normal, Ill, retired chief engineer in the hydraulics department of Underwriters Laboratories Inc, 207 E Ohio St, died yesterday in Brokaw Hospital, Normal, after an illness of several months.  Hendricks, who lived in Maywood from 1909 until 1967, was with Underwriters Laboratories for 43 years.  He retired in 1950.  Services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday in Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside.  Surviving are his wife, Elsie, a son, Howard, and a daughter Mrs Earl Schaare of Fort Collins. Colo.

Rae Wright Hendricks, also known as Jack, was the son of John Howard Hendricks & Sarah Catherine Hegeman born in 1884 at White, South Dakota.  He married Elsie Philomena Bauder, the daughter of Samuel Bauder & Katheine Anna Singloub, around 1909 and had 2 children – Howard & Genevieve.

Howard S. Hendricks, 67, of 1022 Hovey Ave., Normal, died at 3 a.m. Thursday at Mennonite Hospital. He had entered the hospital Saturday.  Mr. Hendricks retired in 1968 as an insurance representative. He worked in Bloomington-Normal for 30 years and prior to coming to this area was in the insurance business in Chicago for 16 years.  He served on the Unit District 5 school board from 1950 to 1953, and was president of the group from 1951 to 1952.  A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Park Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Philip D. Queen officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Metzler Memorial Home.  Mr. Hendricks was born October 21, 1910, in Maywood, Ill., the son of Rae Wright Hendricks and Elsie Philomena Bauder. He married Jean Warfield Hayes on October 28, 1935, in Maywood, Ill.  Survivors include his wife; two sons, Hayes, Matteson, and John, Superior, Wis., a sister, Genevieve Schaare, Fort Collins, Colo., and two granddaughters.  Mr. Hendricks was a member of the Normal Ill. Masonic Lodge, the Bloomington, Ill., Consistory and was a former Shriner. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in fire prevention engineering in 1932 from the Illinois Institute of Technology and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.  Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled C

Jean Hayes Hendricks, 66, of 1022 Hovey Ave., Normal, died at 6:03 p.m Wednesday at Americana Healthcare Center, Normal, Illinois.  Mrs. Hendricks attended Northern Illinois State Teachers College and taught in Maywood, Ill., from 1930 to 1935. She had been a resident of Normal since 1947 and retired in 1977 after 24 years as a secretary in Unit 5 schools. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Metzler Memorial Home, the Rev. Philip D. Queen officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Hendricks was born December 28,1911, in Rock Island, a daughter of Daniel Gordon Hayes and Blanche Munn. She married Howard S. Hendricks on October 28, 1935, in Maywood, Ill. He died December 1. Survivors include two sons, John, Superior, Wis., and Hayes, Matteson, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Munn Thompson, Hayward, Wis., and Patricia Hall, Santa Cruz, Cal.; and two granddaughters.  Mrs. Hendricks was active in the PTA, was past president of the Bloomington-Normal PTA Council and was given life membership in the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers. She was a member of the Illinois and National Association of Educational Secretaries and Second Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the American Business Women's Association and president of that group in 1970 and 1971. She was Woman of the Year of that organization in 1971.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the music fund of the Second Presbyterian Church.
