Edna C Sickler, born in 1888 at Halfmoon, NY was the daughter of Edward Charles Sickler & Caroline J Vandercook. She married Arthur Lewis Vermilyea, the son of Euguene Vermilyea & Celia Small, in 1918. Together they had 5 children - June, Arthur Jr who died 10 months before his father, Edward, Robert & Harold who donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program in Albany.

Dies At Home
Arthur L Vermilyea, 79,
a former employee of the Grand Union Co Warehouse in Waterford, died yesterday
at his residence, 86 Hudson River Road, Waterford. Mr Vermilyea was under the
care of a physician. Mr Vermilyea was born in Waterford, a lifelong resident of
the town, and was a member of the Federated Church there. He was an Army
veteran of World War I, and was a member of the American Legion, Charles J
Brady Post of Waterford. He retired from the Grand Union Co 14 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Sickler; one daughter, Mrs John P Judge of
Waterford; three sons, Edward Vermilyea of Sauquoit, Robert and Harold
Vermilyea, both of Waterford; two sisters, Mrs Ralph Hammersley Sr of Cohoes,
and Mrs Charles Pickthall of Florida, and sixteen grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday at 11 am from the Quandt
Funeral Home, 23 Broad St, Waterford, with Rev James G Patterson, pastor of the
Federated Church of Waterford officiating. Interment will be in the Waterford
Rural Cemetery.

Mrs Edna S Vermilyea,
84, of [86] Hudson River Rd, Waterford, widow of Arthur L Vermilyea, died
Friday at Leonard Hospital after a long illness. A native of Halfmoon, Mrs
Vermilyea had lived in Waterford most of her life and was a member of Federated
Church of Waterford. She also belonged to the auxiliary of the Charles J Brady
American Legion Post. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs John P Judge of
Waterford; three sons, Edward Vermilyea of Sauquoit, NY, Robert and Harold
Vermilyea, both of Waterford; one sister, Mrs Grace Reed of Lansingburgh; one
brother, Harold Sickler of Mechanicville; 16 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Monday from the
Quandt Funeral Home, 23 Broad St, Waterford, with Rev James G Patterson, pastor
of Federated Church of Waterford, officiating. Interment will be in Waterford
Rural Cemetery.

L Vermilyea Jr, Mechanicville, RD 2, husband of Helen Gniewek Vermilyea, died
Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Mr Vermilyea was born in Waterford,
the son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Vermilyea of Waterford but has resided in Mechanicville
RD 2 for the past 25 years. He was the founder of the Ushers Machine and Tool Inc in 1946 and was secretary and treasurer of the company. He was a member of
Corpus Christi Church, Ushers. Survived by his wife, Mrs Helen Gniewek
Vermilyea, Mechanicville RD 2, two daughters, Mrs Douglas Pulfer, Baltimore,
Md, Sally Rose Vermilyea, Mechanicville RD 2, a son, James Vermilyea,
Mechaniville, his parents, Mr and Mrs Arthur Vermilyea, Waterford, three
brothers, Edward Vermilyea, New Hartford, Robert Vermilyea, Waterford a sister
Mrs John Judge, Waterford, nieces,
nephews and cousin. The funeral will be held Monday at 9 am from the John
Noonan Funeral Home, 406 Park Ave, Mechanicville and at 10 am at Corpus Christi
church, Ushers. Interment will be in St Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. Friends
may call at the funeral home, Saturday 7-9 and Sunday 2-5 and 7-9 pm. In lieu
of flowers, friends may contribute to the Cleveland Clinic Hospital Building
Fund.
