Mary Wihlemina Smith was the daughter of Charles N Smith & Clarissa A Millious - via the Millious line, it traces back to Hezekiah Rogers Jr & Hannah Vincent. Mary was married twice.
First to Newton Alpheus Leet, the son of Hiram Wallace Leet & Olive Barrows, and they had one son. Newton was the owner/operator of a garage who inadvertently got involved with a check kiting scheme in 1934 but was later acquitted. Newton died in 1954.
She married her second husband in 1956. Ivan H Ticknor, the son of Alpha Sanford Ticknor & Myrtle Eva Hopkins. Ivan, a farmer's son, worked as steel worker in the Binghamton.

Newton Leet, 51, Marathon, Dies
Newton A Leet, Front St, Marathon Metal Products Co, died in Cortland County Hospital Sunday following a brief illness. His age was 51. Mr Leet was born in Lyle May 7, 1903, the son of Wallace and Olive Barows Leet. He was a member of the Killawog Baptist church and Marathon Lodge 438, F&AM. Surviving are his wife, Mary Smith Leet, a son, Charles, Killawog; two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Pendell, Marathon; Mrs Nellie Barrow, Killawog; and two brothers, Roy Leet, Harpersville; and Harry Leet, Marathon. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Killawog Baptist Church, the Rev Keith Knauss officiating. Interment will be in Marathon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Baker Funeral Home, Marathon, 7 to 9 this evening. Masonic services will be conducted by the Marathon Lodge this evening at the funeral home at 8.

Ivan Ticknor Of Killawog Dies Saturday
Ivan H Ticknor, 68, of Killawog, died Saturday morning at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. He was born Oct 22, 1902 in Upper Lisle, the son of Alpha and Myrtle Hopkins Ticknor. Mr Ticknor was a member of Marathon Masonic Lodge 438, F&AM, and Killawog Fire Department. Surviving are one sister, Mrs Alice Gregory of Whitney Point; one nephew, Gerald Allen of Whitney Point; an uncle, Lewis Ticknor of Cortland; three step-daughters, Mrs Elwyn (Barbara)
