The Parents - John & Cassie & Mercy Vincent

John Sidney 'Osborne' Vincent, a farmer from Middleboro, Nova Scotia was the son of James 'Edward' Vincent & Nancy Annie Heather.  He remained in the Cumberland Co area and was married twice and had 17 children.

He first married Catherine B Hudson.  Cassie died when her youngest child was 3 years of age.  Osborne & Cassie had 3 children - William Perle, Earle Villard and Clarence Percy.

I wrote about Clarence in a previous post but their oldest son William Perle died at 16 years of age in 1913 when he was scalded to death at the local canning factory

Earle married Beulah Coulter - they both died in Massachusetts but are buried at the Monument Hill Cemetery in Cumberland Co, Nova Scotia.

Their son Willis Earle married Alta Coulter - she died in Massachusetts in 1988 and he died in Florida in 2001.

Osborne's tombstone picture was an important find - Jody Marie MacKeil recently added it to the Find A Grave memorial and it answered the question as to when Mercy passed away - death dates varied but the stone is clear she died in 1967.

As mentioned, Osborne and Mercy had 14 children - Gladys, Herrick, Logan, Norman, Laura, Lucille, Myrtle, Vera, Leaman, Lena, Violet, Ella, and the twins Aubrey and Audrey.  Wow!
