Clarence Vincent & Lola Gould

Clarence Percy Vincent born at Hansford, Nova Scotia to John Sidney Osborne Vincent & Catherine Hudson - yes, John was married twice and had a total of 17 children - oy!

In 1902, Clarence married Lola Johanna Gould and they kept it small with 3 children, Doreen, Elmer & Arnold.

VINCENT, Lola Johanna - 90, Pugwash, died March 8, 1999, in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Nappan Station, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Bradley and Ethel (Ebbitson) Gould. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, making quilts and playing cards. She liked to travel when possible and lived most of her married life in Middleboro and Pugwash. Music and dance were favourite pastimes. She was a member of Wesley St. Matthew United Church, Pugwash, and was also a member of the United Church Women, 50 Plus Club. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughter, Doreen (Mrs. Melbourne Tuttle), Middleboro; son, Arnold, Wallace River; half-sister, Betty (Mrs. Wendall Chapman), London, Ont.; half-brother, Alywn Mason, Amherst; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; son, Elmer; great-grandson, Matthew; sister, Leona Sprague; brothers, Wilfred, Borden, Leslie. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, service 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. Family flowers only.  Donations to Matthew Tuttle Memorial Scholarship fund or any charity.

Elmer married Ruth Gladys Brown and they had 4 boys.  Elmer & Ruth are buried in Ontario at the Mountview Gardens Cemetery.

VINCENT, Arnold W. - 66, Fountain Road, Middleboro, passed away peacefully May 12, 2005,in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Middleboro, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lola (Gould) Vincent (Middleboro). Surviving are his loving wife, Jean (Craib); daughter, Cathy (John), Pugwash; son, Bradley, at home; granddaughter, Meghan, and daughter-in-law, Karen, both of Halifax; sister, Doreen (Melbourne) Tuttle, Middleboro; several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his loving cat and best friend of 16 years, Hughie. He was predeceased by his brother, Elmer (Ontario).  Arnie worked for several construction companies operating heavy machinery in Halifax and Ontario.He started his own trucking business in 1984. He loved working in his garage, repairing things and rebuilding his trucks. He had a great passion for snowmobiling, four-wheeling and dancing. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Truckers Association, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 60, Pugwash, and two snowmobile clubs. Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, with funeral service 2p.m. Sunday, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery,Wallace River. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Palliative Care.
