Vera Jane Vincent married Aage Martenus 'Chris' Christensen. She was the daughter of John S O Vincent & Mercy Mooring and he was the son of Niels & Andrea Christensen from Denmark. Aage & Vera had 3 children - Dennis, William and Kenneth.
CHRISTENSEN, Aage Martenus "Chris" - 93, Amherst, passed away in Gables Lodge, August 17, 2001. Born in Denmark, he was the son of the late Niels and Andrea Christensen. A local contractor and cabinet maker, he lived the past 70 years in the Amherst/Pugwash area. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera Jane (Vincent) and infant son, Dennis. Aage is survived by sons, William (Geraldine), Amherst; Kenneth (Mary Lou), Ottawa, Ont.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service and interment to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pagweak Youth Camp or a charity of choice. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Gables Lodge. PHILLIPS, Carla Dianne - 36, Calgary, Alta., died January 7, 1996, at home. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of William O. (Bill) and Geraldine (Gerry) (Goodwin) Christensen, Amherst. A graduate of Amherst Regional High School and a business education program, she held several clerical positions in her hometown, including at Zellers and as a member of the typesetting department of Cumberland Publishing Ltd. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to Calgary where she spent several years employed in the oil industry. Surviving are her husband, James; daughter, Ashley; son, Justin, both at home; brothers, Brian, Pennsylvania; Steven, British Columbia; sister, Kim (Mrs. Perry Morrison), Amherst; paternal grandfather, A.M. (Chris) Christensen, Amherst; several aunts, nieces and nephews. Funeral 10:30 a.m. today in Holy Spririt Catholic Church, Calgary, Rev. Timothy Boyle officiating. Cremation to follow. Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church, Amherst, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial at a later date in the family plot of Palmerston Cemetery, Pugwash. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Camp Pagweak or any charity. Arrangements under the direction of McInnis & Holloway's Park Memorial Chapel.
