Thermopolis, WY, Library Obituary Files; 22 Oct 1908
Death of Z.J. Loftin
Z.J. Loftin passed from life to the Great Beyond at 12:30 Thursday morning, October 22, 1908, after suffering with an attack of typhoid fever for several weeks. He was thought to be doing well until complications arose that terminated fatally. He has been a resident of Thermopolis for the past four years, following the calling of salesman in mercantile establishments during that time. By courteous and upright conduct and strict integrity and industry he had won a high place in the esteem of the community.  Zaza J. Loftin was born in Missouri June 13, 1881, moving to Washington territory with his parents when a small child. He was married to Miss Margaret Vincent November 10, 1902, and came to this city two years later. He leaves a wife and two small children to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. Besides these he leaves an aunt, Mrs. J.F. Weber, in this city and other relatives in Missouri and on the Pacific coast. Numerous friends did not forget the family in their bereavement but did what they could to make the burden of sorrow lighter.  The funeral was held from the Methodist church yesterday, Rev. P.N. Fredin officiating, and interment was in Monument Hill cemetery.
