Carol E Mannor was one of seven children born to William J Mannor & Rose Mary Emma Kellow - william the son of Frank Robert Mannor & Ada Luella Smith.

Child Dies of Rabies
Ann Arbor, Mich, April 14 - (AP) - Death came at noon today to four-year-old Carol Mannor, who was bitten March 25 by a rabid dog while she played in her backyard. University hospital physicians were powerless to aid her because of the "overwhelming infection" of seven bites about the face was too severe for the Pasteur treatment.

Inez Shannon was the daughter of William D Shannon & Alice A Smith.  She was married twice - first to James Henry Duffany, the son of Henry Duffany & Eunice Shields and they had a son Gerald Henry Duffany who died at 3 months.  Her second husband was Marvin L Baxter, the son of Ernest Baxter & Frances Brown and they had 2 children - Gordon & Nelma.

Marvin L Baxter, 70, Addison, died December 25 in Jackson Co Medical Care Facility. Born June 22, 1902 in Manton, Mi, son of Ernest and Frances Brown Baxter and spent early life in that area. Married Inez Shannon July 12, 1926 at Jackson, Mi. She died March 8, 1963. He was employed by Consumers Power Co. Leaves one daughter, Mrs Barney (Nelma) Marowelli of Addison, with whom he had made his home for the past 10 years; one son, Gordon E Baxter of Covington, Ga; one sister, Mrs Leona Jurcick of Fla; five grandkids and one great grandchild. Burial in Fairview Cemetery at Manton, Mi.

Howard Isaac Smith was the son of Albert Isaac Smith & Sophia Mary Mannor and he was married twice.  

First he married Zelma G Lee, the

daughter of Fred Lee & Josephine Gay and they had 6 children - Virginia, Mary, Lucille, JoAnne, Howard & Patricia.  


His second wife, Catherine Curtis, was the daughter of John Curtis & Ellen Leasure and it appears they had one son, David.

SMITH - Howard I, Of 209 Little Olcott Lake, aged 68. Passed away at Munising Memorial Hospital, July 12. Survived by five daughters, Mrs Manley (Virginia) Jacobs, Mrs Rex (Mary) Lausch, both of Michigan Center, Mrs Lucille Sierminski, Mrs Jack (Patricia) Peavy, and Mrs Arthur (JoAnn) Holdridge, all of Jackson; two sons, Howard F and David I, also of Jackson; stepdaughter, Mrs James (Maureen) Parker of Detroit; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother Mrs Sophie Smith of Jackson; three brothers, Lee of Wolf Lake, Orlando and LeRoy both of Jackson; sister Mrs Luella Lee also of Jackson. Mr Smith is at the Nichols Funeral Home, Michigan Center. Services will be held Monday at 2:00 pm. Interment Woodland Cemetery.

SMITH, Catherine M, of 209 Little Olcott Lake, age 56, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Thursday, March 23, 1972. Surviving are her husband Howard; one son David at home; one daughter Maureen C Parker of Dearborn; five step-daughters, Virginia M Jacobs, Mary L Lausch both of Michigan Center, Lucille M Sierminski, JoAnne Holdridge and Patricia L Peavy, all of Jackson; one stepson, Howard F Smith of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Monday, 10:00 am at the Nichols Funeral Home, Michigan Center. Interment Woodland Cemetery. The Reverend Jacob Knoedler officiating.

Bessie Irenia Grahl was the daughter of Frank Benjamn Grahl & Irenia Smith. She married George LaVern Raymond, the son of Frank Raymond & Emma Long, and they had 5 children - Grahl, Grover, Ronald, George & Joye.

CERESCO - Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Court Funeral Home, Marshall, for George L. Ravmond, 78, of 228 Battle Creek St. Mr. Raymond died Sunday in Oaklawn Hospital, Marshall, where he was admitted Saturday. Born in Ypsilanti Township, he came to Ceresco 15 years ago from Tekonsha. Mr. Raymond was employed at Marshall Furnace Co. until it closed in 1947 and later worked at Hayes Bros. Machine Shop, retiring from there in 1957. He also was a farmer. He was the husband of the late Bessie Irene Grahl. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Joye) Potter of Rives Junction; sons, Grover of Ceresco. Grahl of Spring Arbor and Ronald and George Jr. of Battle Creek; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Sheppard of Ypsilanti.
