Hattie Marie Duncan was the daughter of Joseph Porter Duncan & Hannah Maria Schouten - the line traces back to Hezekiah Rogers Jr & Hannah Vincent.
She was born in 1883 at Paradise, IA and she married William Frank Hoffman who was born in 1876 at Chicago, IL to German parents, William Hoffman & Albertina Adams.

Hattie M Hoffman - Funeral services will be at 1 pm Monday in the Stirlen-Piper Funeral Home, 149 W Main St, Barrington, for Hattie M Hoffman, 83, of 906 Cindy Lane, Carbondale. She died at 10 am Thursday in the New Haven Center in Carbondale. She was born Oct 11, 1883 in Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Hanna Schouten Duncan. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Barrington. Mrs Hoffman's husband, William, died in [1947]. Surviving are her son, Burton of Carbondale; daughter Elaine Graham of Barrington; grandsons, Steve, Tom and Philip Hoffman, all of Carbondale; and eight great-grandchildren. Local arrangements are being made by Walker funeral Home in Carbondale. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. Friends may call at the Stirlen-Piper Funeral Home on Sunday.

Dorothy Hoffman Rites Saturday
Mrs Dorothy Hoffmann, 59, of 800 Cindy Drive, Carbondale, died at 10 am Wednesday in Barnes Hospital, St Louis, Mo, after an illness of eight weeks. Mrs Hoffman was born Dec 5, 1910, in Barrington, a daughter of Herman and Annie Garbisch. She was married in 1934 in Barrington to Burton Hoffman. Besides her husband, she leaves son, Stephen, Thomas and Philip, all of Carbondale; sisters, Ruth Bolin of Barrington, Erma May Sawtell of Neenah, Wis and Eleanor Long of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; brothers, Francis Garbisch of Homewood, Calif, and Merrill Garbisch of Barrington. One brother and one sister preceded Mrs Hoffmann in death. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday in the Stirlen-Piper Funeral Home in Barrington. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home.
