Roberts - Sweet

A while ago I posted the obit for John Roberts, the son of James H Roberts & Martha A Hegeman.  At the time, his wife was a dead end but now I know it was a short lived marriage.

John married Mary Ella Sweet, the daughter of William Henry Sweet & Mary Helen Anibal in June of 1892 and an article ran in the Fulton County Republican, Thurs, 23 Jun 1892

John Roberts and Ella Sweet were married June 9th, at Galway, by Rev. C. P. Anibal. They started on their wedding trip by Perth, Broadalbin, Fish House, Pumpkin Hollow, Johnny Cake Hollow and brought up in Benson, where they will stay until Saturday and In the afternoon they will come home. The band will meet promptly at 9 o'clock In the evening and give them a serenade. John has ordered four boxes of cigars to treat the boys on the occasion.

Sadly, 3 months later, yes you read that right, 3 months later she died!
