Sidney Clyde Hill is a
marry-in. He married into our family via
Elizabeth Gale, the daughter of John Gale & Natalie Kemp ~ via the Kemp and
the Johnson families, Natalie is a descendant of Hezekiah Rogers Jr &
Hannah Vincent.
Sidney was the son of
George Hill & Grace Fuller and was born 29 Aug 1918 at Winnebago, NE. He married Betty in 1946 already a
military man for 6 years.

While on exercise in
Newfoundland, the plane Sidney was on crashed – it appears that the plane was
coming in too low for the terrain.

Capt S C Hill, 34, one of 14 killed in a crash of a C-54 military transport in
Newfoundland Jan 16, will be buried in Greenwood after funeral services at 10
am, Thursday in Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Hill, son of Mrs Grace F Hill of
1013 N Riverside Dr, had been station at Harmon Air Force on the west coast of
Newfoundland. Mrs Hill and Herbert, their 4 year old son, arrived here last
week and will live with Hill's mother. Lucas Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
