John Judge & June Vermilyea

June Edna Vermilyea, born in Michigan, was the daughter of Arthur Lewis Vermilyea & Edna C Sickler.  She married John Paul Judge, the son of John J Judge & Anna Murphy and had 2 children, Susan & Michael.

John P Judge Dies Suddenly in Hospital
John P Judge, 40, of 75 3rd St, Waterford, a member of two volunteer groups in that community, died suddenly at 1215 pm yesterday

shortly after being admitted to the Leonard Hospital as a medical patient. Coroner Anthony E Matera, who was notified, said last night that an autopsy showed that death was due to natural causes. A Navy veteran, Mr Judge served aboard the USS Orvetta during World War II. He was a member of both the Ford Hose Co and the Waterford Rescue Squad. He was a communicant of St Mary's Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. Mr Judge, son of the late John J Judge, is survived by his mother, Mrs Anna Judge; his wife, the former June E Vermilyea; one son, Michael Judge; and one daughter, Susan Judge. The funeral will be held from the Quandt Funeral Home, 23 Broad St Waterford, Monday at 9 am and at 930 am from St Mary's Church where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.

WATERFORD - June E. Judge, 88, of 4th St., died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Northwoods Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Jackson, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Sickler Vermilyea. June was a graduate of Waterford High School, class of 1935 and was valedictorian of her class. She was employed for 15 years at the former Leonard Hospital as a switchboard operator and retired in 1999. Prior to that, she was employed as a secretary at Waterford-Halfmoon High School for 23 years. She was a member of the First United Church of Waterford and the Waterford Museum and Cultural Center. She was also a former treasurer of the Waterford Public Library and a former treasurer of the Waterford-Halfmoon School Board of Education. June was the widow of John P. Judge, who died in 1956. She is survived by her son, Michael P. Judge and his wife Sandra and her brother, Robert Vermilyea, all of Waterford. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan A. Judge, as well as her brothers, Harold, Arthur and Edward Vermilyea; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterford Public Library in care of the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford, NY 12188.
