Chronicle-Herald – Tuesday, September 4, 1979 – Rueben Cecil Mason – 64, of
Tangier was buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery following funeral service. Born in
Tangier he was the son of Mary (Hawes) and the late Lorne Mason. Surviving are
four sisters; Rita Horgan – Marblehead, Massachusetts; Etta Harhan – Brockton,
Massachusetts; Jean Cooper – Tangier; Vera Shafner – Beverly, Massachusetts;
three brothers, Murray and Harris both of Tangier; and Meighen Lester –
Halifax.

He was one of 8 children for Judson 'Lorne' Mason & Mary Lavenia 'Millie' Hawes out of Tangier, Nova Scotia. Judson was a fisherman like his father but I don't know how many of his boys followed suit.
Rita, Vera & Etta's marriages to men from Massachusetts meant they relocated to the United States; the rest of the kids remained in Nova Scotia.
