HOOD - Albert E, husband of Helen Hood, father of Myron, Howell and Esther Hood, Blanche Fisher and Patricia Owens; son of Alice T Hood, brother of Olive W Clarke, Constance Goodykoontz, Anita Baughman and Roy C Hood, also 4 grandchildren. Services Wednesday, 2pm at Norwalk Funeral Home, 12204 East Firestone Boulevard, Norwalk. No flowers.
This obit doesn't really tell us much about Albert.
He was the grandson of Joseph who was killed under a train in 1886 and the son of George William Hood & Alice Tennessee Coburn. George was born in Nova Scotia and by 1890, he was married and settled in California working as a Milk Inspector.
While Albert was unemployed and not yet married, he enlisted in the Army to serve in WW1.
He was honorobly discharged from the Army in 1918; married Helen about 1922 and had 5 children; and was worked as a welder.
He died in 1952 - I love the name of the cemetery where Albert was buried.
She died in 1991 after remarrying a few times.
