Sgt Jeremiah C Peck was the son of Jeremiah Peck & Sally Hougtalin. Like his brother Abijah, he served during the US Civil War. However, Jeremiah died at Murfreesboro, TN after being taken prisoner

Before heading off to war, Jeremiah married Adelaide A Piper around 1854 and she was the daughter of Simon Piper & Nancy Warner - the Warner line descends from Andrew Warner of England who first landed in Massachusetts.

Jeremiah & Adelaide had 2 boys - William H and Elmer J.

By 1870, Adelaide and her boys had settled in Missouri with her new husband, a farmer named Sidney Jarvis. Adelaide remained in Missouri where her children with Sidney resided, while her 2 boys with Jeremiah relocated to Nebraska.
