Guilbault - Armstrong



Frances Folsom Armstrong was the daughter of James Adelbert Armstrong & Julia Simmons. She married Louis 'Edmund' Guilbault, the son of Charles G Guilbault & Rosa Cane. Together they had 6 children - Frances, Charles, Edmund, Marian, Lucy & Myrtle.

Mrs E Gilbault [sic] Pneumonia Victim - Ontonagon Woman Will Be Buried Monday Morning
Ontonagon, April 17 - Mrs Edmund Gilbault, 49, died at her home Friday morning at 4:15 following an illness of pneumonia from which she had been suffering for the last week. Mrs Gilbault was formerly Miss Francis Armstrong, a daughter of Mr and Mrs M Armstrong and was born in Ontonagon, April 14, 1888. She lived here the early years of her life, moving to Rockland with her parents in 1900. She was united in marriage to Edmund Gilbault of Rockland, October 27, 1906. Mr and Mrs Gilbault lived there until 1920 when they moved to Ontonagon where they have lived since. Surviving are her husband and two sons, Louis and Edmund, of Ontonagon and four daughters, Mrs Tony Clark of Flint, Mrs Fred LaVigne, Mrs Thomas O'Brien and Miss Myrtle Gilbault of Ontonagon; three sisters, Mrs Caroline Carne of Stambaugh, Mrs Cecil Carne of Iron River, and Mrs Mary Lundberg of Crystal Falls, and one brother, Allan Armstrong of Iron River, and eight grandchildren. Mrs Gilbault was a member of the Macabees and a faithful worker in the Catholic Church societies. Funeral services will be held from the Holy Family Catholic Church Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

L Guilbault Funeral is Held at Ontonagon
Ontonagon - Funeral services for Louis Edmund Guilbault, 61, were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday. The high mass was held at 9 o'clock with the Rev Owen J Bennett officiating. Burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Walter Hanz, Joseph Valley, Frank Wiesen, George Wilson, Jerome Walker and Ira Landree. Mr Guilbault, who was born in Ontonagon on September 13, 1881, died at his home here on Saturday, March 28, at 6 pm.  He had been ill for the past two years. Mr Guilbautl spent practically all of his life at Ontonagon, with the exeception of a short residence at Rockland. He was employed prior to his illness by the Ontonagon [Fibre] Corporation. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, a member of the Paper Maker's Local No 354, and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. Surviving Mr Guilbault, are six children: Mrs Frances Clark of Flint; Mrs Marion LaVigne of Otsego, Michigan; Mrs Lucy O'Brien and Mrs Myrtle Trevarre of Ontonagon, and by his two sons, Louis and Edmund of Ontonagon; a stepsister Mrs Mary Roosen and fourteen grandchildren. Out of town relative attending the funeral were Mr and Mrs Cy Carne and son of Stambaugh; Mr and Mrs Albert Carne of Iron river, and Mr and Mrs Edward Lundberg and daughter of Crystal Falls.
