Aubrey & Phyllis Vincent

VINCENT, Aubrey Willis - 80, Tatamagouche. It is with both great sorrow and joy that his family announce the peaceful passing into the arms of the Lord of Aubrey Vincent, January 12, 2007, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.  Born in Hartford, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Osborne and Mercy (Mooring) Vincent.  He worked in construction, lumbering, and lobster fishing as well as for the Canadian Salt Company in both the Pugwash and Malagash mines.  Aubrey was an avid gardener and hunter and always enjoyed being out-of-doors.  Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann (Swan) Vincent; son, Willis (Connie), Prince George, B.C.; daughter, Nancy MacKenzie (Colin), Malagash; stepdaughters, Patricia Chambers, at home; Carla Cameron, Bible Hill; stepson, Scott Cameron, Tatamagouche; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Vincent, his twin, Calgary; Gladys Sleigh, Lower Sackville; brothers, Logan, Sardis, B.C.; Herrick, Comox, B.C.; his former wife, Phyllis Vincent (Townsend), Malagash. He was predeceased by sisters, Laura Coulter, Lucille Langille, Myrtle Hatcher, Vera Christianson, Lena Porteous, Violet Langille and Ella MacNeil; brothers, Earl, Pearl, Clarence, Leamon and Norman; father and mother-in-law, James and Mary (Geddes) Swan.  By request, cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288).  Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in Central New Annan United Baptist Church, Mr. Rufus Peacock officiating.  A gathering will follow the service in The Wilson Schoolhouse.  Burial will be in South Shore Cemetery, Malagash.  The family would appreciate that memorial donations be made to North Shore Health Services Foundation or any charity.

VINCENT, Phyllis Elmira - 81, Malagash, was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 31, 2007, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, with her family at her side.  Born in Malagash, August 29, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel (Purdy) Townsend.  Through her gentle, caring and selfless spirit, she touched everyone who was blessed to know her and spent many hours in prayer for family and friends.  She loved to create things with her hands and then blessed those she loved with those creations.  She was a humble woman in spirit but mentored many in times of need.  She humbly led to serve others in both her church and her community.  Over the years, she served with the Rebekah Lodge in Malagash, the Malagash Area Rural Seniors group, the UCW and others. She always enjoyed those activities spent with her friends and neighbours.  Surviving are daughter, Nancy MacKenzie (Colin), Malagash; son, Willis (Connie), Prince George, B.C.; grandchildren, Andrew, Pamela (Eric) Belsham, Anglea, Erin (Robin) Ridsdale, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Zacharia, Mattea, Riley, Evelyn, and Brennan.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Aubrey Vincent, and sister, Bertha Wilson.  Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288).  Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3 in Pugwash Memorial Baptist Church, Pastor David Young officiating.  Spring interment will be in South Shore Cemetery, Malagash.  Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
