Montfort Grandchildren


Evelyn Blanch Finkbeiner was the daughter of Philip Finkbeiner & Blanche Catherine Montfort.  She married Lawrence A Juchem, the son of Edward Juchem & Elizabeth Warner and they had 2 children - Marlene & Lorraine.

Lawrence Juchem, 59, died Friday at Highland Hospital, Beacon. He was born in Pine Plains Sept 26, 1917, son of Edward & Elizabeth Juchem. He was retired as a mechanic for Dairylea and was a member of the Industry Union,Local No 338. He is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Hawkins, Wappingers Falls, and Mrs Marlene Hendricks, Hyde Park; a brother, Edward; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10 am at the Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. The Rev Gordon L Kidd will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the McCornac Funeral Service Inc, City of Poughkeepsie.

Mrs Evelyn B Juchem, 60, of Vassar College, Town of Poughkeepsie, died Monday after a brief illness. Mrs Juchem had been employed with Vassar College for the past six years. A local resident all her life, she was born in Millbrook on Nov 11, 1917, to Philip and Blanche Montford, Finkbeiner. She was educated in Millbrook schools. Her mother of Hyde Park survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs Marlene Hendricks of Hyde Park, and Lorraine Hawkins of Wappingers Falls, two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday at the Robert H Auchmoody Funeral Home, 16 Grand Ave, city, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be given Friday at 2 pm from the funeral home, the Rev M Lawrence Snow officiating. Burial will take place in Freedom Plains Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Reta Dorothea Finkbeiner, the 2nd child of Philip & Blanche, married Sherman Bennett, the son of Isaac Sherman Bennett & Alice Mae Triller.  They had 3 children - Sherman, Donald & Susan.

Reta died in 1970 and Sherman was remarried for a brief time before his death.

Mr Bennett - Services have been held in Fayetteville, NC for Sherman Bennett Jr, 64, of 4048 Linestone St, Fayetteville. Mr Bennett died Friday, April 20. A resident of Fayetteville for the last six years, he was formerly from Poughkeepsie where he was born on Nov 7, 1914, the son of Sherman and Alice (Triller) Bennett. Mr Bennett had been employed with the Schatz Federal Bearing Co and was a member of the Mid-County rod and Gun Club, LaGrangeville. Mr Bennett is survived by his wife, Mildred E Stone Bennett; a daughter, Mrs George Temple of Poughkeepsie; two sons, Sherman of Wappingers Falls and Donald of Tucson; a stepdaughter, Mrs Paula Oliver of Poughkeepsie; a stepson, Lawrence A Stone of the US Navy; four sisters, Mrs Dorothy Wagner and Mrs Helen Ginter, both of Poughkeepsie, Mrs Alice Faust of Colorado, Mrs Ruth Wermuth of Michigan; three brothers, Robert O of Wappingers Falls, Norman K of California and Edward A of New Jersey; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Reformed Dutch Church, 16 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park on Wednesday, May 2 at 10 am. Donations may be made to the American Heart Fund. Arrangements were under direction of the Beece Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC.
