Crandall

According to the sources, this Crandall family descends from an Englishman named Elder John Crandall out of Rhode Island; a line with many a minister. An illustrious clan that included the inventor of the typewriter, the baby carriage and more, but regardless of the vocation, Crandall members where known to be sturdy of character and noble in principles.

This family is that of Claude Clarence Crandall who married our clan's Mabel Vera Yates, the daughter of Leander Yates & Edna S Learn. Mabel was born in Ischua, NY & Claude in Flint, MI and they married at Hinsdale, NY in 1899. To them, were born 6 children - Edna, Linford, Mildred, Alden, Donald & Harold.
