Charles Ernest Baldwin was the son of Howard Rosekrans Parritt Baldwin & Lina Hoyt Burbank. He married Dorothy Grace Perry, the daughter of Stephen O Perry & Sophie B Cornwell & they had 6 children - Charles Jr, Howard, Alla, Richard, Jean & Robert.

Milford - Charles Ernest Baldwin Sr, of Irvington, Va, formerly of Milford, died Thursday in Williamsburg, VA.  Services and burial took pale in Petersburgh, Va. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Dorothy Perry Baldwin; five sons, Charles E Baldwin Jr of Brussels, Belgium; Howard H Baldwin of California; Allan W Baldwin of Colonial Heights, Va; Richard H Baldwin of Hartford; and Robert E Baldwin of Richmond, Va; a daughter, Mrs Jean B Townsend of Irvington, Va; a brother, Willard C Baldwin of Stratford, and 15 grandchildren.

Lenard Levi Markham was the son of Walter R Markham & Ella M Rogers & married a Nova Scotian named Ruby Morrison, the daughter of Donald Morrison & Elizabeth Kimball.

Len L Markham Dies Suddenly This Morning
Len L Markham, 226 Grant St, a longtime resident of Rhinelander, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home early this morning. He was 73 years of age.  Mr Markham was born July 19, 1883, in Merrill. After coming here, he and the late Flint Stone operated a clothing store for many years. Mr Markham was a salesman for the Oneida Liquor Co, then was employed part time by Gary's Clothing Store. He worked for Gary's for the past eight or nine years. Mr Markham was a member of the Rhinelander Lodge 242 F& AM. Funeral services and a complete obituary, being handled by the Carlson Funeral Home, were not available at noon today.

Olive Mae Rogers, the daughter of Edgar Horatio Rogers & Ellen Belle Sanford married Thomas Burton Beveridge, the son of Thomas T Beveridge & Lydia a McLauchlin.

Col Beveridge Dies in Madison
Madison - (AP) - Lt Col T Byron Beveridge, 70, a veteran of 41 years of active military service, died in a Madison hospital last night. Until a month ago, when Colonel Beveridge became ill, he had been employed as supervisor of graves registration in the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, after holding a similar position since 1923 in the state Adjutant General's office, also editing the Wisconsin National Guard Review. He was transferred to the new department in August, 1945. Colonel Beveridge retired from active service in the Wisconsin National Guard in 1937, and at that time was cited as the oldest officer in the guard in point of continuous service. He held 10 medals resulting from service in Puerto Rico, Mexico and France. Enlisting at Appleton in 1896, he joined Co G of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry and served as a Corporal during the Spanish-American War, as a Captain in the Mexican border fighting and as a Major of the 127th Infantry in World War I. Surviving Colonel Beveridge is his wife.

Evelyn Laura Foster, the daughter of Porter Foster & Sarah Eliza Rogers married Frederick Anderle, the son of German parents, Ignatz Anderle & Agatha T Matzke - they had 3 children - Helen, Mary & Joseph.

Fred Anderle, Former Mayor, Dies Suddenly
Fred Anderle, 78, a resident of Rhinelander for 55 years, mayor and retired business man, died suddenly in his home, 204 S Oneida Avenue, about [430] o'clock yesterday afternoon. His death was due to heart disease. Mr Anderle had been in good health and only last Saturday had returned with Mrs Anderle from Elgin, Ill, where had had visited his daughter Mrs Robert Winn and family. In mid-afternoon yesterday, he was sitting in his favorite chair on the porch watching Mrs Anderle as she worked in the garden. Mrs Anderle stepped into the house for a moment and as she passed near the door leading to the porch, she heard her gasp. His death was almost instantaneous.
