Funeral services for Richard D Suiter, of 303 Rock Island Ave, who was dead on arrival at Schoitz Memorial Hospital at 6:20 am yesterday of complications of lung cancer, will occur tomorrow at the Chapel of Memories West with Rev Warren Frahm, pastor of Immanuel United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories. A memorial has been established in Mr Suiter's name for the cancer fund. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday until time of service. He was born May 31, 1903 in Denison, the son of William and Nancy McCord Suiter. He had lived in Waterloo the past 35 years and was employed as a baker at the Webbeking Bakery. He married Edna E Diem in Denison May 23, 1925. Surviving are his widow, one son, Richard of 1174 Lindner Dr; three brothers, William of 514 E 2nd St, Robert of 722 Forest Ave, and Edgar of 1516 W 7 St, Cedar Falls; four sisters, Mrs J George Jr of 1320 W 4th st, Mrs Mary Podhaski and Miss Mamie Suiter, both of 1726 Rainbow Dr, and Mrs Bettie Hohle of 150 Berkshire Rd; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Jennie Edeline Suiter married Joseph 'George' Griffith Jr, the son of Joseph Griffith & Gertrude Emily.

Joseph George Griffith, 46, of 1423 Cornwall Ave died at 330 pm Monday at Scholtz Memorial Hospital or carcinoma. He had been ill for the past three months. He was born Dec 1, 1908 at
Plainfield, the son of J G and Gertrude Griffith, and moved to Waterloo with his parents in 1924. On Nov 26, 1936, he married Jennie E Suiter at Waterloo. Mr Griffith had been employed at Strom's Food Centre, 1219 Washington St. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Bernice Faye at home; his mother, Mrs Gertrude Griffith of 223 Sumner St; two brothers, Paul of 1827 Hawthorne Ave and Wendell of Cedar Falls; and four sisters, Miss Susie Griffith, 223 Sumner St, Mrs Ralph Lingquist, 214 1/2 E 8th St, Mrs Charles Greenlee, 120 Clay St, and Mrs Earl Franz of 145 Hawthorne Ave.  One brother, one sister and his father preceded him in death. Mr Griffith was a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. The body is at O'Keefe & Town Funeral Home were funeral arrangements are pending.
