William Lorenzo Rosekrans


William L Rosekrans was the son of  Lorenzo Josiah Rosekrans & Emma E Harrison and he married twice - first to Florence Elizabeth Higgit, the daughter of William G Higgit & Mary A Glasheen; second to Kathryn T Danish, the daughter of Polish parents, Jacob Danish & Justine Spiak.

Interior Decorator Succumbs
William L Rosekrans, 53, of 2715 2nd Ave, Watervliet, past governor of Troy Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, and a self-employed interior decorator, died yesterday at his residence following a lingering illness. Born in Troy, he had resided in Watervliet the greater part of his life. He was a member of the German Hall Assn, and the First Presbyterian Church of Troy. Son of the late Lorenzo and Emma Harrison Rosekrans, he was the husband of the former Kathryn Danish. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Warren Van Rankin, Mrs Joseph Fish and Mrs Albert Barton, all of Watervliet, and Mrs James Myers of Troy; a sister, Mrs Robert McAllister of Pleasantdale; four brothers, Carl of St Louis MO, Richard of Philadelphia, Howard of Watervliet and Frank of Colonie; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held private from the residence at 10:30 am Thursday with Rev S Edward Young, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

W T Grant Clerk Dies In Hospital
Mrs Florence Higgitt Rosekrans, 15 Bleeker Ave, died Saturday at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness. A native of Troy, Mrs Rosekrans had lived in Troy and Watervliet all her life. She had resided at her present address for the past eight years. She had been employed by W T Grants in the sales personnel department until she was taken ill. Mrs Rosekrans is survived by four daughters, Mrs Warren Van Vranken, Mrs James C Meyer, Mrs Conrad Fish of Watervliet and Mrs Albert Barton on Round Lake; two sisters, Mrs Marcella Bernhard and Mrs Loretta Allendorph; and ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be from the Styles Funeral Home, 196 Pawling Ave, Tuesday at 8:30 am and at 9 am from St Jean's Church, where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
