He married twice. First to Mary Patrosh, daughter of Thomas Patrosh & Rose Demczar; second to Martha Pauline Dorey, the daughter of Raymond D Dorey & Nora B Winner.
Howard
was already married when he enlisted in 1943 and when he returned, he
resumed his business and he & Mary went on to have 4 children - Howard Jr, Nancy, Thomas who died in infancy, & Mary Lou, aka RoseMary.

Mrs Howard W Rosekrans died this morning at her residence, 1205 Hillside Dr, Watervliet, after a brief illness. She was the former Mary Patrosh, daughter of Mrs Rose Patrosh and the late Thomas Patrosh. Born in Watervliet, she was educated in Watervliet public schools and Watervliet High School. She was a member of St Patrick's Church, Watervliet. The survivors are her husband, a son, Howard W Rosekrans Jr; two daughters, Nancy M and Mary Lou Rosekrans of Watervliet; her mother and two brothers, John Patrosh of North Greenbush and Peter Patrosh of Watervliet. The funeral will be held at 9 am Tuesday from the Parker Sons Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, and a 9:30 am from St Patrick's Church, Watervliet, where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St Patrick's' Cemetery, Watervliet.

Miss Nancy Marie Rosekrans of 1206 Hillside Dr, Watervliet, a life long Watervliet resident, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center Hopsital after a brief illness. The daughter of Howard W Rosekrans Sr and the late Mary Patrosh, she was educated in Watervliet. Miss Rosekrans was a communicant of St Patrick's Church. In addition to her father, Miss Rosekrans is survived by her stepmother, Mrs Martha Rosekrans; a brother, Howard W Roserkans Jr of Watervliet; and two sisters, Mary Lou and Janice Rosekrans, both of Watervliet. Funeral services will be at 9 am Friday from the Parker Brothers Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 am from St Patrick's Church where a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated. Interment will be in St Patrick's Cemetery.
