Nessle Brothers


William Elbert Nessle, the son of Franklin B Nessle & Amelia Hill, married Bertha Almana Turner, the daughter of Egbert A Turner & Lucinda Baker. They had 2 sons - Everett & a boy Ralph who died in infancy.

Ballston Spa - William E Nessle, a retired carpenter, died early this morning at the Manor Rest Convalescent Home, Round Lake, after a long illness. He was born July 9, 1881, in the town of Halfmoon, the son of Frank and Amelia Nessle. He was a member of St George's Episcopal Church, Clifton Park, a member of Longkill Rebekah Lodge 160, and a past grand of Jonesville Lodge 132, IOOF. Survivors are his wife, Bertha Nessle; a son, Everett; five grandchildren, all of RD 1, Ballston Lake; two brothers, Thomas E Nessle, Kingston and Robert F Nessle, Fairlawn, NJ. Funeral services will be conducted at 1030 am Monday at the Parker Funeral Home, Burnt Hills. The Rev Noel P Conlon, pastor of the Calvary Episcopal Church, Burnt Hills, will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesville Cemetery. The funeral home will be open Sunday from 7 to 9 pm.

Burnt Hills - Mrs Bertha Nessle Knight, 78, of Goode Street RD 2, Ballston Spa, died yesterday at her home after several weeks of illness. A member of the Burn Hills Methodist Church, its WSCS, and Longkill Rebekah Lodge, Mrs Knight was born Sept 3, 1884 in Clifton Park. Survivors are her husband, J Russell Knight; a son, Everett Nessle of Ballston Lake; a stepson Stanley Knight of Burnt Hills; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at the Townley-Wheeler Funeral Home on Midline Road, Ballston Lake. Rev Harry J White,, pastor of the Clifton Park Methodist Church and former pastor of the Burnt Hills Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesville Cemetery. There will be no viewing hours. Memorials may be made to the expansion program of the Burnt Hills Methodist Church or to the Ballston Lake Emergency Squad.

Warrensburg - Everett (Jeff) Nessle of Star Route, Warrensburg, died March 10, 1980 in Glens Falls Hospital. Mr Nessle was born in the Town of Halfmoon and had resided in Warrensburg for the past eight years. During World War II he served as an air raid warden. He was a former resident of Burnt Hills and had served as manager of Burnt Hills Ballston Lake School System bus transportation for 21 years. Following his retirement he worked for Ashdown Oil Co for 10 years. Mr Nessle was a member of the Clifton Park Halfmoon Baseball Team and a former scout leader of Troop 38 of Burnt Hills. He had been a member of various bowling leagues at Burnt Hills Lanes. He was a member of the Scotchbush Rod and Gun Club and the Burnt Hills and Ballston Lake Fire Departments. Survivors include his wife K Delphena (Swatling) Nessle; two daughters, Mrs Helen Ruggieri of Camarillo, Calif and Mrs Frances [Regani] of Merced, Calif, and three sons, Douglas B Nessle of Camden, Robert W Nessle of Johnsburg and Charles E Nessle of New Carlisle, Ohio. Memorial services were conducted Thursday at the Townley and Wheeler Funeral Home, Ballston Lake by the Rev Richard E Barrett. Interment was in Jonesville Cemetery, Jonesville.

Thomas Elmon Nessle married Irma Delilah Walsh, the daughter of Orange Walsh & Julia A Reynolds and they had one daughter, Alma.

Thomas E Nessle, 66, of 91 Garden Street, died early today at the Kingston Hospital. He came from Glens Falls 37 years ago, and became known as an expert machinist. Mr Nessle retired three years ago after employment for 17 years at the Manhattan Shirt Co plant and 12 years at the F Jacobson & Sons factory. He was a son of the late Frank and Amelia Hill Nessle. A member of the Wurts Street Baptist Church, he served 20 years as a member of the board of trustees, and for many years was active in Sunday School work, having been secretary and treasurer. Surviving are his wife, Irma Walsh Nessle; a daughter, Alma, wife of the Rev Donald H Finley of Binghamton, formerly of this city; a brother, Robert Nessle of Fairlawn, NJ; three grandchildren, Lynn Thomas, Brian Thorne and Marsha Elizabeth Finley; also a niece and nephew. Funeral from the family home on Sunday at 3 pm with religious services in charge of the Rev Donald E Brown, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial in Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls, Monday at convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Nessle home Friday and Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
