Carl Gilbert Faulkner
was the only son of Carl Faulkner & Minnie Jane Smith. He was born in 1942 and died in 1977 leaving
behind a wife and child.

A Mechanicville
resident was killed Tuesday night when his car skidded across Route 9N, north
of the village of Keene and struck two trees. State Police said Carl G
Faulkner, 35 of Kennedy Apartments in Mechanicville, lost control of his car on
a curve, slid 160 feet and crashed into trees on the opposite side of the road.
Faulkner, who was pronounced dead on the accident scene, was pinned inside the
car. He was born in Mechanicville and had been a resident of the area all his
life. He graduated from Mechanicville High School and Hudson Valley Community
College and was employed as a highway engineer for the New York State
Department of Transportation, Region 1. He was a veteran of the US Army and a
communicant of St Luke's Episcopal Church.
He was a member of in Mechanicville. Faulkner is survived by his wife,
Lynda Adams Faulkner; one daughter, Julie Jean Faulkner; his parents, Carl and
Minnie Smith Faulkner of Mechanicville; his maternal grandmother, Mrs Gilbert
Smith of Mechanicville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services
will be held Friday at 9:30 am from the Dunn Funeral Home, 319 Park Avenue and
at 10 am in St Luke's Episcopal Church where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated.
Burial will be in Hudson View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to
St Luke's Episcopal Church repair fund or the John Ahearn rescue Squad in his
memory. OnDaWa Lodge, F & A M, will conduct Masonic services at 8 pm at the
funeral home.
