Helen Vermont McLean was the daughter of Thomas Delay McLean &
Nancy ‘Belle’ Stevens. Harris Purdy
Hunter was the son of Seldon Hanley Hunter & Frances Venetta Purdy. At the time of their marriage in 1932, Harris
was a Merchant, she a stenographer.
Other than his obit, little else is known as the pair did not have any
children

Springhill - Harris Purdy Hunter, 74, of 5 Purdy Street, Springhill, died Friday in the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Seldon and Frances Venetta (Purdy) Hunter. He was a past chancellor and a life member of Cumberland Lodge No 5 Knights of Pythias. He was an adherent of Springhill United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen MacLean; a brother John and a sister Frances (Mrs Fred Schurman), both of Springhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant brother Douglas. The body is at the AH Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where funeral service will be today at 2pm; Rev Harry Ward officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
